Hey guys quick question,

I have some corals that been in the a coral only qt for a little over 3 months. I want to move them to main display. I added a sixline wrasse and some turbo snails about a month ago. Six line been very happy because the tank is filled with many small pests. But I didn't actually qt the sixline, can I drop the corals in my DT? If there was some disease in the tank the sixline would've revealed it right by now right? I won't move him out of the frag tank only the snails and corals.

Thanks for the bump! I still didn't move any corals! I found some vermetid snails. I was literally pulling up the coral, I inspected it and found two. What's gives? Been inspecting the corals literally 3 months with nothing. How did they appear suddenly?

Also any help on the candy cane. The LFS gave it for me for free. It was dying and somewhat bleaching. Some heads fully recovered the past few months but some heads are still like that above. Algae also keeps growing on the heads cleaned it many times but no luck. Should I break off the healthy heads and let them live? It has like 7-8 heads

If the fish has any diseases, they’re more than likely on the corals, so personally I wouldn’t add them. But if you’ve been keeping an eye on the wrasse and haven’t seen any issues, it’s likely fine, though you never really know for sure. Fish can carry things like flukes or ich for months or even years without showing symptoms, and then suddenly get stressed and sick. Personally, I’d do a full quarantine just to be safe, but like I said, if he looks healthy, it’s probably okay.

The snails were probably eggs when you got the corals and hatched later.

Thanks for the answer! I am not planning on moving the sixline wrasse to be honest. He will permanently be a frag tank resident to eat the random pests there. I am planning on moving the corals. Is there a chance there is a disease on the coral itself if the fish is healthy? If the answer is yes, how long would that disease stay in the tank? If I leave the wrasse and the corals there untouched for 6 months. Would that be an indication that everything is clean?
