Hi reefers,

Recently, I observed that acros in particular spot always has burn tip. I’ve had about 50 acros in my tank, and only acro in that spot has burn tip. I’ve tried swap it out with another acro, and the original one slowly recovered but the one that’s placed in that spot got burn tip almost the very next day. I have no idea what’s going on and that spot is in the mid lower side of the tank getting about 280 pars. I’ve had acros in much higher spot doing well. I’m running G5 XR15 in supplement with T5. I wonder if the UV from the LED causes this to happen.

The circled white spot is the damage (not very clear in the picture). I’ve tried many different acros, and they all end up the same

I don't think it's burnt tips, the edge of the polyp has color and it's only the central mouth or tentacle (misentral threads?) that's white. You might also consider flow in that area.

I’m not sure if it’s burnt tip, but the symptoms are definitely the same (skin peeling off on the tip). I’ve had placed Mille(I heard they can tolerate high par) there, but the side that’s facing up got burned, too.

I would say the flow in that area is relatively low. It’s surrounded by rocks.

You didn't mention that in your first post and there's no sign of tissue loss in the pics you posted. As far as identifying what's causing multiple corals when placed in that one location to start loosing tissue you'll need ot look at ither some kind of shading issue that alters the spectrum in that location or something unique about the water flow in that one location.

Many corals can tolerate or even thrive in much higher PAR than 280 but if a specimen grew in lower light it may not acclimate quickly or at all to high PAR.

Yeah, I'm not seeing but tips there. Maybe growth tips.
