Im new to acantho and have 2 doing great. Added a third and noticed on shipping some skeleton was showing. It opens good in the day but at night it shows skeleton. Is this a concern ?

Been watching daily. Opens great in day time and evening but at very late nights the skeleton shows. Next day it’s open fine. My other acantho don’t do this

Tissue does recede at night slightly which is normal and should restore to full puffiness when lights go on within 2 hours

It does, but that bottom spot doesn’t get fully covered

Seeing that bottom spot, can be (a few things to verify):
Irritation from sand if deep into it
Elevated Phosphate
Dead spot
low alk
Low calcium

Out of the bag it had that one spot already with tissue recession.

Probably a few weeks for it to heal and move it’s butt back over the skeleton.

Happened to willsoni for me so think that’s what this is

Has it been readily eating when you feed? Probably could use some extra feedings to help heal

Thank you, I guess this is just shipping stress. The vendor did give me pictures and a video of it prior to shipping, and there was no recession

It is eating and inflating everyday. Vendor told me he keeps them in very low flow lagoons so I have reduced my MP40/10 to level 1 to see if it helps
