I wanted to change my unions out on my Abyzz A400. Old ones were schedule 40. New ones were Lasco schedule 80. I ordered a replacement cover, I was surprised that the replacement was clear. I also had to get a couple metric to standard adapters. I ordered everything from CoralVue (I thought they were both on here, I guess not) When I dry fit everything I was super surprised at how loose all these were. I used standard PVC cement and clear primer. The leak is coming from where the adapter was glued to the cover. Should I have used heavy duty or some other type of cement? Really surprised pump of this cost has such a pooppy adapter system. I have seen pumps from China with better tolerances on their adapters. Thoughts on cement to use?

I use Fusion PVC cement. I mean since you have glued it, it is not going to come apart. To fix that leak you can buy new parts (obviously) or you can try to just keep dabbing PVC cement at the leak area to try to melt the leak. I have been successful doing that with low pressure stuff.

Yeah, I was thinking of doing that. Kinda trying to make a plastic soup. Anyone hungry?

I would be skeptical of the band-aid fix long term.

Are these threaded or slip? Sorry not familiar with their pump fittings.

If slip, yes heavy body cement. It has more (a lot more) monomer in it (the solids) compared to the medium body. There are some better medium body cements as well like - Christy's Red Hot Blue

Slip, my wife would kill me if I left this like this long term. I got it to stop leaking so I can flow test on and off over the next 7-10 days. I shut the valves off when not in use. I just currently have two water in the tank. @BeanAnimal I went to HD and they didn’t have “Heavy Body” they had “heavy duty”. Is that the same or different?
