A little help with identification on this coral I rescued a 2 month ago. It’s healing up nicely but I’m still a little stumped on the exact species. It’s a decent size and kinda looks like an inbetween a symphyllia or lobophyllia. I would say the diameter is 3” x 5”
What are your thoughts experts…..
thank you

It has a skeleton? It kinda looks like a yuma to me with the little fingers on the edges.

The skeleton at the edges makes me feel like you might have an Acantho in your hands. The shape of the mouth too.

Wow. It’s that’s the case , this definitely is in a rougher state than originally thought.

Well it’s improving anyways, gonna take a while to recover likely as acantho isn’t a super fast grower

i cant think

Symphyllia is a synonym for Lobophyllia, so both are still useable in a way but Lobophyllia is the genus.
