I didn’t realise how many angels are actually CB! Also, the Regals are both the subspecies and regulars, they’re bred separately but the brood stock is put into the same tank, mixing them all up. Because of this, it’s essentially impossible to know which one is going to be a true yellow belly and which is a grey belly as both variants start out with the yellow belly.

Yeah totally! I love seeing more captive bred angels (and fish as long as they’re not freak hybrids or designer mutants lol).

I would guess that in the wild the grey and yellow bellies meet in the western parts of Indonesia as that’s where the Indian and Pacific Oceans border each other with some overlap. It’s also where you see hybrids like the Pacific Lemonpeel with the Indian Ocean Eibli, around places like Christmas Island.
