Only wrasse in this tank is the Melanurus :thinking-face:
Then that's a "probably yes"... I had a Peppermint for like 5 minutes once with my Mel.

One more upgrade (lol) before I leave the tank for a week+, this Avast Marine Plank Feeder is awesome, but in this 55 / no sump, it has to sit right under my lights, so its prone to algea growth in the feeder tube, which clogs the flow up after a week or 2 (depending on your algae growing skillz). On out next tank (huge) with sump (huge), I will be sadly stuffing this beautiful piece in my return chamber in the dark (assuming the wife is against cardboard DT mods still). Love this thing though and the fish are nuts for the Reef Jerky freeze dried plankton.

Tank got a spare blanket in the fish room today, thus he approves of everything so far.

Back from a 2-week mission and catching up here!

All good with the tank, big relief. No ATO sensor issues, auto feeder shroud worked great and skimmer cup plumbed to a 5 gal bucket let me sleep better while away.

No LFS stop this trip, but, have a package from @Projects with Sam at the PO to grab tomorrow thats been waiting hehe..

FTS upon arrival after 14 days away from the house below. Any GHA and bubble algae I didn't clean out prior is basically gone, I'm not used to less algae after 2 weeks maintenance free... The only remaining GHA I can see, on my STN-ing black Tubastraea is turning white, might be turning a corner here with tank maturity stages..? Will run some parameter tests this week.

Tank is looking good. Glad the algae problem is turning around for you. I’m always a bit nervous when going on vacation and leaving the tank. Is it weird I worry about the tank and cat more than the kid. :thinking-face:

Alrighty, getting settled after our 2 week trip. Had a @Projects with Sam package waiting for me at the post office upon arrival - light shades are installed and I got some freebies to play with, Sam is the man!

Much better in the fish room now without lights in my face 24/7.

The white shade parts are some nice factory seconds for freebies so I have a little DIY and then the white set that I was also thinking about getting over black.. (Sam is the man, if we didn't say that before). Plus a few frag stands, action pics coming shortly :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Tank stuff, algea is basically disappearing, I'm chalking it up to electric toothbrush algea removal (Project E-TAP), beefing up the CUC, and hopefully some tank maturity lol?

So, also did a 5 gal WC (~15%) and ran a few numbers:

SG 1.025
Temp 25.4-25.6 C (~78-81 F)
NH3: 0
NO2: 0
NO3: 50
PO4: 0.45
dKH: 8.4

Nitrates still a little high even right after a WC, no PO4 change..

Otherwise all good on the reef..

Been a busy spring! Updates below, tank is in cruise control while we finish up some life chores and start enjoying some weather above freezing :D ..for a little bit.

I'll be catching up on y'alls threads shortly here and I'm expecting to be impressed. FYI.

Photo updates are the most fun.

Clowns still loving the frogspawn. .

Goni getting attacked by hermit crabs (she'll be fine)..

And yea so, ALL of my GHA and bubble algae is gone. 100%.. Levels are fine, inhabitants seem extra hungry. Little bit of Dinos on the sand (?)? Nothing a siphon can't handle, we are not concerned.

Blastos are fine but I think it'll take about 10 years for them to cover the frag plug

You'd be surprised...

This picture was shortly after I irritated it...
It went from 8 heads to 20ish since the end of October last year.

Nice! I've had that frag for a year, and they just stay the same..... Absolutely no growth, but appear fine..
