Hi SBB!

Thanks for the nice giveaway, maybe I am lucky :)

My main goal right now is to figure out a 24/7 feeding tank. While I don't yet know if it is useful or beneficial, I would like to get this working.

We feed our tank a few times a day. Frozen, pellets, flakes, phyto, dust... we feed it all. We also see responses from coral when food is presented. This has always amazed me and raised a few questions.

The main question is "Do coral taste food 24/7 in the ocean".

The ocean is a mostly constant flow of nutrients and food. We can't replicate this at the moment. If we want to do this, we end up with enormous amounts of waste in the water. That is a problem. All this waste results in bad water quality.

I don't have any specific coral for which I want to try this, but gorgonians are coming to mind.

My Goal at this:

I want to filter as much as I am feeding. And the water should contain food 24/7.

So we want to feed all day every second, but also filter out all the food every second. Food should only be in the water for 1 sump cycle.

We don't want the food to get dissolved. Once it is dissolved, I can't fight it anymore. Before it is dissolved, it should have been eaten or filtered. Most of the perfectly fine food will be filtered out again and is not eaten and not disolved.

My current tank setup is a BETA version of my concept. I have been working on this for about 2 years and am now planing the definitive tank for this setup. I learned a lot, and made a few mistakes which will help met with the final tank.

The first thing I tackled was 100% water true the filterroller and a turnover of about 13 times an hour.

I am not yet concluding, but as far as I can see now, this is not enough. I need to up it to about 25 times an hour.

That's the plan! One said "You want to keep food in a tank instead of fish?", and that made me smile because YES, that sounds a bit like what I am trying.

Thanks for reading, thanks for the opportunity to win goodies. :)

Have a great day,
Niels

I'm an old fool from the old school. Need to improve my understanding of programming/set-up required to use some of the new automated systems.
