I’m guessing they are using a RNG program and just entering post numbers between drawings. It would be a lot different had the winner not placed any entry.

The random number generator can select the post number, but then the admins should verify it is a legitimate entry. If all someone had to do was enter once for all of their comments in the thread to count as an entry we would have the entire r2r population spamming these threads.

Conversation in the thread is allowed and has won many people things throughout various competitions. The mod uses a rng and then confirms the person is a valid entrant.

So you're saying any posts made in these threads count as official entries and the rules for entry don't actually matter? Can we get @revhtree @Daniel@R2R to chime in for an official ruling please? If the rules don't mean anything then we might as well start spamming giveaway threads to increase our chances of winning.

1) no I'm saying official entries are official entries. There are various bonuses one could get. Usually those involve interacting with the vendor, their social media presence, or the others on this forum.
2) neither of the posts you referenced were spam. Helping out a fellow entrant should be encouraged.
3) I'm citing lived experience, if there is a rule to say that only official or bonus entries can win the prize, that is neither stated in anything I've read (except from you) nor has it been the practice as long (albeit not that long) that I have been on the forum.
4) Daniel wrote the rules, so I am taking it as allowed that comments other than official or bonus entries can win.
5) if I have misspoken I'm any of the previous statements, I will amend my thinking and understanding.

Some threads encourage spamming, this one does not. While I can see your point, @Daniel@R2R is good at verifying these things. This is a cool giveaway from a generous vendor. Daniel will chime in eventually, but in the meantime let's just be excited that this forum does these great giveaways.

Just be happy for the people who won man! It’s Christmas time spread the joy! Don’t make big deals out of small stuff and ruin the contest for people in the future.. nobody needs 5 pages of rules for a give away! The mods ran the contest and picked the winners! Roll with it! Cheers!

It wouldn't create 5 pages of rules. It would just be admins needing to checkif the winning post was an official entry or not. Chat away and have fun on the threads. if all posts are considered official entries, then I will be more active on the giveaway threads. Asking for a fair and balanced giveaway isn't much to ask for. People using giveaway knowledge to their benefit that others do not know about is unacceptable imo.
