I decided to go with southeast Aquariums out of Buford GA for this build. This company works very closely with MRC (they're in the same building) and is local to me. It was an easy decision. I decided that the tank would sit in my office and I would have a hole cut in the wall to be able to see the tank from my living room as well.

Here are a couple pictures of the tank and stand while being built and hydro tested.

The tank is plumbed through the floor into a 13x15 fish room directly underneath. This room houses my sump as well as a mixing station my RODI unit a large sink a work table and some other storage. We went with a tile floor with floor drain and black frp on the walls.

We also put the black frp on the wall behind the tank upstairs. The plumbing was done by the team at Southeast Aquarium and it came out amazing. 100 times better than I could have ever done my self.

The sump is 60x24x24 and sits on an extruded aluminum stand from framingtech. This stand also holds my protein skimmer, waste collector and my return pump.

The tank has 2 closed loops for flow. I used two panta rhei hydrotube 42 inline pumps. These things are amazing! They are dead silent even at 100%. The pumps move a ton of water too. They are reversible and can be programmed to work in sync with each other. They should be able to create some really interesting flow patterns. I'm really excited to get the tank filled so I can experiment with these some more.

Love the panta inline pumps. Especially the way they can be mounted off the floor under the tank. Will definitely pencil them in on my build. Want to do the closed loop for a BIG peninsula. Was thinking 500 gal, but after reading for 3 months, 2k gallon is looking like a more suitable size for my live stock choices and location.

This is a cool build - the hydrotube pumps on the closed loops are of particular interest to me. What are they rated for in terms of raw throughput and

Also - what size are the inlets coming of your closed loops? They look to be 1.25 or 1.5in PVC

Awesome start! Love the use of the Panta Rhei's!

Any plans for an Apex? Or how will you control everything?

Is the aquarium a hybrid - like PVC bottom and Acrylic Eurobrace?
