45g Built-in Book Build

Officially closing on a new house soon and looking to upgrade the current 15G. Im going to do my best to plan and build ahead as much as possible so were up and running asap.

The plan:
Create a built in look by using 2 book case shelves with a custom and stand and hood. I will be adding crown molding and a few tweaks to the shelves to really sell the overall look. The hood will be on hinges to allow for easy maintenance and feeding. I will most likely add a hatch for even quicker access

Rimless 36x18x16.5 with Eshopps M overflow.

3 pump Doser with AFR.

Current tank:
Because i have a horrible bubble algae problem.. the plan is to create a new aquascape with marco rocks. I plan to frag everything i can from the current and add them when ready. This time i can be prepared with a more robust cleanup crew. I do plan to keep it mostly SPS.

Nexts: Just ordered the tank and overflow. Will start to drill the tank and begin building the frame. Stay Tuned.

Trying to keep cost and maintenance within reason. Not to mention it was a struggle to get the mrs onboard the 15g....

Just a little bigger... Thats a great set up.

First 2 tanks arrived cracked..... trying for a third with a new manufacturer and slightly new dimensions.

Finally received a good tank and began the build. I switch the cabinet color to a dark green to match rest of house.

Plumbing is in progress with the addition of a UV sterilizer. Canopy has been retrofited with T5s and Primes.


Stand has been built and tested with heavy duty hinges.

Thanks... No issues with blue light. The camera is too high to see any direct light
