So build is in quotations because my tank is built and has inhabitants in it. I'll list my setup and creatures. Photos to follow of the process are in no particular order. Also a few coral shots.

Setup:
40 breeder
Custom coast to coast overflow
Bean Animal drain
Custom built 30 long sump/fuge
DIY ATO in the works. Parts are sourced. Needs soldered.
Jebao OW-25 ordered. Will be here early next week
SCA-303 skimmer
Reef Radiance LEDs x2
UFO grow light over my sump
Leafy Ogo macro (I believe) dragon's breath was ordered. Not what was delivered.
New light hanger instead of the hood in photos

Inhabitants:
Bonded pair of Mocha Storm Clowns
A small crew of snails. Nassarius, Astrias, margaritas, more this weekend. Probably a couple crabs too
A single Magician Zoa polyp (my first coral)
Holding a large colony of Aussie Duncans that grew too large for a friend's aquarium.
Added 4 heads of Hephaestus zoas and a jawbreaker mushroom today.
Picked up a colony of 10 Little Shop of Horrors today. Split with a friend. Once cut and healed I will have 5 heads.
Also a Colorado Sunburst nem in the coming weeks. Once it is healed.

Thank you! I cut a 20 long into pieces and snapped them to size for my sump. I had my overflow, internal and external, cut at a glass shop and then I siliconed them and plumbed it. All done by myself except for those glass cuts. I have a build thread of sorts.

Nice! I used a 40B for my build as well, used some plexiglass and built an AIO setup for mine
I love the 40b footprint. When I move later this year I'll build a 75. Possibly a 120ish custom tank. Something low and long after the 75. I was warned by a couple friends but the saltwater end of aquariums is an addiction. I thought my planted freshwater tank was bad!

Yeah, I’m thinking about upgrading in about a year or so probably do a 100g with a 40B sump I love this footprint too, I came over from freshwater as well and used to cry because I didn’t want to pay $8 per tetra now I’m spending $200 on a piece of coral...

I heard that. I have some small colonies of hephaestus, sticker shock, and little shop of horror zoas. A super nice jawbreaker mushroom and a really nice dragon soul torch I just picked up. I thought planting my freshwater was expensive until I started pricing protein skimmers for my reef haha
