38g Icecap aio…. 1.5 years in the making

dino battle continues been several months now. I added a 9w UV on Saturday and surprisingly enough yesterday after work there seemed to be less of them around. Monday night I did get in the tank and do some work removing Dino’s and GHA. It’s killing me not doing water changes….

Wanted to add some more pics, trying to get better at my photography, and show of one of my newest additions, I think it’s a WWC yellow tip? I bought it from them as a no name so idk. Also I bought a purple stylophora but similar to the last stylo I put in the tank they lose their polyps fast and will only have PE in random areas. I’m really hoping it adjust it’s one of my favs

Well things are getting better by the day Dino have dropped back about 90% so that’s great. N03 seems to have locked in around 10 and P04 is between .05-.1 but I’m dosing them about every other day. I’d love to do a water change I’m a water change guy so it’s killing me not having done one for a month or so but nutrients are in range so not going to sweat it too bad. Gonna throw in some more pics these under t5 and xr15 ab+

Just a few pics during last nights water change. The green Acro I bought from WWC in the bargain bin and it was almost completely brown on one side. It’s been in the tank for a few weeks now and it’s gaining its color back and has great polyp extension so I’m looking to start adding more sps to the upper parts of the tank. Not looking to go crazy sps as the new system will be setup very differently and will be more sps dominant in going to try and stick more mixed reef LPs dominant on this 40g

Well snagged another 4 sps frags from a local guy. Picked up two Millie’s, a chunk of Walt Disney and he was nice enough to break off a big piece of monti cap for me also. The Walt was browned out some which is funny just like the green stag I got from WWC so it’ll be nice to see it get its color back and also the monti is already turning red in areas where it was white from being shaded out. The Millie’s look great and I love how shaggy they are I think Millie’s are my favorite sps for sure and I’m excited about adding some more even if they are just grow out for my new tank. I removed the UV also as I haven’t seen any signs of Dino’s for a few weeks and I’ve also started dosing kalk. Adding 7.6ml an hour 24/7 here’s a few pics

Coming from freshwater I find absurd to spend over 1K in a 20 gallon rig

outside of a powerhead did you had a skimmer or ATO ? do they fit ?

The tank is fine but not sure I would ever do another AIO tank. Since you are just starting out though it’ll be okay just gets very cluttered fast. The tank only has three rear chambers so not much you can do in terms of filtration. I ran the filter sock for awhile but found it would get clogged very quickly which would cause my ATO to run and although I never had a big change in SG at once it did lower it over time. So I removed the sock and now yes I run a skimmer, I have the aquamaxx WS-1 and I have it in the middle chamber it works good but not perfect. I had to do some rearranging with heaters and stuff like that to make the skimmer work. As far as lighting goes I started out with a single radion xr15, then went to a t5/LED hybrid and now I have done away with the radion and added 2 more T5 bulbs
