View attachment 2920682View attachment 2920680View attachment 2920681I refilled my Co2 scrubber today. In another 2 weeks I will refill again to keep ph at desired levels. I’m using 1 bag of soda lime a month which equivalents to $300 a year. Is this Absurd or common?

I turned my co2 scrubber into a recirculating co2 scrubber to help. The skim waste was leaking into co2 media reactor and destroying the media so I had to create a diy waste bin which I believe reduces efficiency of the reactor due to leaking air.
You are losing too much air in this setup!

This system should be airtight.

I redid it last night and hung my co2 reactor above the skimmer . Yes that diy little waste container was not effective due to air leaking
Nice!

Also, ensure you minimize the distance between skimmer and CO2 scrubber. You don’t want your system overworking!

pH is going to jump!!!

Can you explain this. How far is to far. I am using the jumbo dolual chamber from brs in recirculating method. Haven't seen media change color nor Ph go up, been frustrated. I am probably 4ft away from skimmer no other choice since canister way to big to fit in the cabinet. I just couldn't resist on the price that I bought the reactor.

Mine is probably 8 inches in tubing. Also - did you close all the open holes on the top of your skimmer lid?

How soon you see a difference once changed media? Also you 9nly have 1 chamber you don't have any issues with moisture destroying your media?

Lol daily im removing waste from tubing so it doesn’t go in the media

it’s elevated above the skimmer too but still manages to get sucked in

It has helped the burning out of media. I also purchased from the link above in bulk and that was a drastic savings! Drastic

as far as the waste ruining the media, still haven’t found a solution .
If you put 2 chambers, 2nd chamber that comes of the cup will collect the moisture. I just have that 2nd chamber empty so all the moisture will drip there.

I buy that 5 gallon shown here and lasts me over a year. It lasts so much longer since I ditched the BRS scrubber and bought the Ice Cap scrubber- 3 times as long. I really like the ice cap!

Can you explain what the difference is between the BRS scrubber and the Ice Cap scrubber, in your opinion what makes the Ice Cap last longer? I assume they're both better than using an old media reactor I no longer use.
