Sun conures are absolutely beautiful but the one I had was incredibly loud. I also had a yellow sided green check once, I really loved that bird, although not nearly as pretty as the sun or Jenday.

Carrot is my sun. Suns have the loudest call of all the conures, reaching over 120db. Peas is my maroon bellied green cheek. Peas is moody and Carrot is my little snuggle fluff!

I had my green check and it was incredibly quiet, so when it passed I decided to replace it with a sun conure. I figured they're both conures so how loud could it be. Turns out Sun and jenday conures are a different genus and incredibly vocal.

Yep! Peas is pretty quiet, unless the food bowl is empty. Or if I take Carrot downstairs and he wants to come too, then he yells, but nowhere near as loud as Carrot. I knew they were quite loud when I got Carrot. But she's my bestest little bud, so it's ok. Unless she's on my should and I feel like my tympanic membrane may shatter into 70billion pieces...

I would love to get another bird, but my wife works from home taking phone calls so she is very opposed to the idea of having a bird screaming while she works. I've always wanted a macaw, but I can't imagine how loud they can get.

I would love to get another bird, but my wife works from home taking phone calls so she is very opposed to the idea of having a bird screaming while she works. I've always wanted a macaw, but I can't imagine how loud they can get.

My son just told me over the weekend that he wants a macaw. I don't have the room for one, not with all the animals I already have. My dream bird is a toucan, but you're talking $15-20k

It makes the $10,000 for my dream bird of a Hyacinth Macaw seem almost cheap.
If I ever did get one it'd be one of the cheaper macaws, probably Scarlett or blue and gold. I'll probably never actually get one though.
