So, still thinking about saving money on my DIY KHD reagent. Currently I've been buying 0.1 N HCL from Amazon at ~$21 per liter. Better than GHL reagent, but still expensive. I see I can get 1L of 2N HCL for the same $21. So, I tried to do the conversion from 2 N down to 0.1 N and wanted to make sure my math is correct.
0.1N is 5% strength of 2N
So for a 1 L solution I should add 950 ml of RODI and 50mls of 2N HCL to make a 0.1N solution, correct?
If this math is correct, then I'll be cutting my reagent cost by 95% and making 1 bottle of 2N HCL into 20 L of DIY KHD reagent pr ~$1/L.
Thanks for the math/logic check.
