I started off with a 7 gallon bow front nano reef around 2001. It was semi successful loaded with zoa’s, shrooms and Xenia. Moved to Biocubes when they were the rage, modding the lighting with two 13 watt power compacts. Fast forward to 2019, purchased a Red Sea nano max 20 gallon which was my most successful tank. It crashed when I had my skimmer air intake outside and they were tarring the streets while I was away.

Last year scored a great deal on a basically new reefer 200xl from a semi local guy. Aquascaped with many shelf's for Sps and while I like the tank, I miss the small reef. I went to my local fish store and found a IM drop off at too good a price to pass up and am going to set it up and see where it takes me. I only want one tank to take care of, and with the success I had with the max nano, I want to see if the drop off is a keeper. Trying to keep this tank as simple as I can so I can enjoy it more.

Equipment:

IM Panorama 20 gallon drop off (tank only took 15 gallons before rock and sand.
Radion XR15 G6 Blue
MP10QD
IM desktop skimmer for oxygenation and removing bad stuff since I’m gone 3-4 days at a time.
100 watt heater
5lbs Dry rock to allow more room for growth of coral

Livestock:

2 clownfish I have had for a long long time
Turbo snail
cleaner shrimp

Coral:
A few high end Sps ….Rainbow Splice, Walt Disney, Homewrecker, confetti and one more undecided
Scolymia
Frogspawn
Gonipora

Going to seed the dry rock with media from the reefer 200xl

More to come

Been away from Radion’s for a while. So far just messing with settings on the XR15 G6 Blue, but I’m really liking the color and dare I say mobius. I have read about a lot of grief using mobius, it it seems very responsive and I like navigating the menus. Seems intuitive.

Definitely more blue which I personally love. The AB+ has a nice color to it as well. Can’t wait to get some coral in this tank.
