It took a long time to cycle and get all the equipment but I finally have my reef almost ready for coral. Got a dc pump for a 50 gal diy sump when that’s done I just gotta add some more dry rock to the left side of the tank to build a slanting reef the other side will stay open for negative space. Looks cluttered atm but it’s coming along. Open to any advice/stocking suggestions I’ve only been Reef keeping for 8 years and I’ve only ever had small tanks before. I’ve also only kept softies and basic fish like a lawnmower blenny. I’d love to find a species of tang that’s well suited to a 6 foot long 36 inch tall tank the sump will have a chaeto area a protein skimmer a Brightwell Aquatics bio block plastic bioballs and a bunch of filter floss. I’m going with the plastic storage tower wet dry filter to maximize space

Still dealing with managing wires but im almost ready for a full tank shot i wouldnt be ashamed of. I have an odd seaweed that looks like long strands of eel grass growing 14+ inches long but better than hair algae!

Thanks! Its still a really messy set up but its getting there. Been 8 months now going kind of slow my last tank cracked and I lost alot of livestock. I made alot of rookie mistakes so this time I'm spending alot more on filtration and dosing.

So my tank is still really messy the grammas in the one pic are on the missing list fingers crossed they reappear. I may not have enough snails in my sump yet...

Mummichog added and dealing with some turf algae outbreaks. The mummichog will hopefully keep the molly population down eating the newborns.
