Thanks. I'm thinking it's from my RO/DI filters. They're a little past when they should've been changed last. I'll be making the switch here shortly and see what happens.

Well, I'm thinking of trying out gfo/carbon on the tank. The diatoms are pretty steady right now and I'm getting some hair algae in the sump. Otherwise, steady as she goes.

Also grabbed some new Coral on black Friday.

I don't believe those to be Diatoms. Looks more like brown slim algae. Many of us (myself included) have been battling them for quite a while.
However I've begun using a newer product called Vibrant, and am surprisingly impressed with the results. Check out the thread for reviews. I think you'd benefit greatly by using it.

Thanks. I've been reading a lot on the Vibrant product since you posted this. I've got an 8oz bottle on the way now. I've also just changed out my RO/DI canisters. I'll be running fresh RO/DI in my ATO starting tomorrow. With any luck both of these will help.

One strange thing did happen with all of this, my Blue Throat Trigger has regained the yellow on his fins and blue on his throat. It is either the higher nutrient levels or the lowering of the Kh levels (CA reactor was keeping then at nearly 12 - shame on me for letting my daily testing fall off).

First dose of Vibrant went in the tank on Friday. I cleaned the glass and am watching to see what happens. So far, as of this morning, no recurrence of algae Cyano/brown slime on the glass. Will monitor and see how it goes.

how do you like the reef brite fixture? I run radium over my cube for years and have been eyeing that fixture.

Update - transferred a wrasse and a clown fish from a smaller tank to this one. Apparently they brought some infection with them.

RIP - 2x yellow tangs, 1 Niger trigger, 2 clownfish, 1 dogface puffer, 1 stars and stripes puffer, 1 mystery wrasse, 1 foxface lo, 1 purple tang and 1 blue throat trigger.

Not all were in the same tank btw. I had an additional 100g cube connected to the system in the sump room.

Fairly fast rebound (system stability wise). ORP/pH all back to predictable fluctuations. All fish that are left are impossible to catch.

Hopefully a significant upgrade is in the near future, will catch and QT at that time. Until the no more fish. Coral is doing really well now.

It's official, she's been disassembled. It was a great run with this tank!!

Thanks to all who have given feedback over the past few years .

All livestock is transferred to the new tank.
