I visited a LFS I’ve never been to before and snagged another Yasha. Wish me luck with this one! I’ve had awful luck with them in the past but this one looked big and fat. It also seems to like to swim around instead of hanging near the bottom. Luckily it’s large enough not to get through the lid.

The Yasha has been in the pistol shrimp burrow for close to a week now with no emergence. I know they often hide for a while, but I swear in the past my Yashas were dying because this Randalls pistol would trap them for periods of time like 2-5 days. Being trapped this long in the burrow over and over again would lead to long term starvation.

In the mean time here’s a trio of hermit crab species! I just found out I accidentally got this grey one a month ago. Is it a Mexican red leg?

Good and bad news. The Yasha has been out everyday and is pleasantly plump. Bad news - I did some rockwork changes. I had to take most of the water out of the tank in order to do the gluing. Both the striped neon goby, and biota mandarin died from jumping into the same maxi mini. It’s cryptic but the last photo before these two is the mandarin with the anemone behind it that killed it.

@SauceyReef sorry about your loss. I do believe that is a scarlet reef hermit. About twice as big as your blue leg.

-Mitchell.
Thanks Mitchell. Losing two fish in 24 hours to the same little anemone was tough. Knowing they are both tank raised made it a little easier.

I was reffering to the hermit crab in the middle of the trio in the photo above - the gray one. Any idea what species? I love me scarlett hermits. Here is another one of the scarletts by the new green kenya tree I got. The blue kenya will soon be out.

@SauceyReef okay I was looking at the scarlet. You're talking about the one in the middle. Are the stripes going in the direction of the legs or around the legs perpendicular? I had a hermit with stripes going same direction as the length of the leg but couldn't even get a common name.
