I saw a video where some guy took a heat gun and did a quick "blast" of the printed object and those little strings disappeared quick! I was thinking of trying it out.
I clean up the big stuff by hand, knife, snips. Then I have a small handheld adjustable butane torch I give the parts a quick blast with. Works great on PTEG, but you have to be careful on PLA.

Careful though it can create small blobs of melted plastic on your print. As long as you don't blast it too much they will brush right off.

Overall it didn't turn out bad, no supports, 100% infill, 72grams total weight, slicer was right on the money with it.

One spot on the back I'm not happy with but hey it's the backside.

I'm printing a second one with a different brand, Ataraxia, it's a tan color. It's more of the shade of brown I was looking for.

20% done and the stringing is 80% less. Tiny tiny thin strings, easy to clean up. Same settings as my normal PETG.

I actually had to pause the print and wipe the nozzle off with the hatchbox as the strings were building up into a blob.

@tbrown I'm not sure how to search within threads, so figured I'll just ask here.. Noticed you have Noopsyche's mounted with an arm on a rimmed tank. Could you please share how you made that happen?
I loosened the screws on the bracket just enough to squeeze it over the rim then retorqued them once installed. (The four little metal screws on the backside of the arm)

great work on the chin overhang.
Yes it turned out better than the back of the head, so I'm thinking it was more a cooling issue and a support would not have made a difference.

The ender 5 S1 has dual cooling ducts, intake on the rear. The hot end fan is on the front.

@tbrown much appreciated! I was hoping that was possible but read some negative reviews on it. That's the same way I made my flexible AI arm mounts work with the brace trim.
I'm new to the forum here but been in the "reef game" for 10+ years now. Nice to see another AZ folk utilizing this resource.

how are your prints going @tbrown
I think I've figured something out. Anything I modify in Cura (dimensions mainly) causes the top layers to turn out kinda garbage. Everything else, I adjust the leveling in small increments for during layer 1 and things are turning out decent. I designed a Nem Cup with a suction cup attachment that I'm going to try in Transparent PETG probably Thursday or Friday but this post just made me realize the suction cup part is wrong. A little redesign will happen!

I noticed that the walls print beautifully and are nearly clear but the infill turns out more like frosted glass.
