I'ma go ahead and drop a "before" Zoas pic
IMG_20230429_102254462.jpg

Zoa garden rock is done spiking pH and alkalinity. Saltwater soak started today!

Also, the rest of the Smidgets and EggRagoRacks started freshwater soaking today. Lot more Crete I'm that batch so it's going to take a little bit I'd imagine.

I'm trying to decide if I should make a Zoa Aragocrete rack... I know I need one for Gonis. Probably want a smallish one for my Bower and I need one for the Blastos.

Let's see, 11 Gonis - maybe 2 racks for 6-7 each for extras
5 Zoa plugs and 1 colony - 1 multi-tiered rack with 7 plug holes for future Zoas?
6 Blastos so a rack for those plus 2 or 3 spares...
1 Bower but want more so 3 hole rack
2 Micros but need more so 5 or 6 rack
7 Acros need a more permanent home so 3 or 4 more hangers...
10 mushrooms with room for more so 15? Probably 2 racks of 5 with some in the rocks above

Ok, so:
  • (1) 9 plug
  • (1) 7 plug standard + (1) tiered
  • (2) 6 plug
  • (2) 5 plug
  • (1) 3 plug spaced for Bowers
  • (4) 2-3 hole hanging
12 frag racks... Looks like I've got some work cut out for me.
1 hanger with 4 holes (I learned from my last one so all 4 should be usable) - Done
1 tiered Zoa rack - Done
1 6 rack - Done
1 Single Bower - Done
1 2 plug for something maybe - Done

"Bower" and the "2 Plug" are Smidget so I may or may not use them. The 7 or 8 is probably going to be for Gonis.

8 more to go! Maybe. The 3 remaining hangers might turn I to 1 more 3 or 4 hole.
Ok...

1 Zoa garden rack/rock - Done
1 Hanger with 4 holes - Done
1 6 Rack - Done
3 Smidget RackRocks (1 or 2 holes each) - Done
1 7 Fuge Stand Shelf - Done

I still need a Blasto RackRock and probably a Micro RackRock. Also going to make at least 1 more 2 or 3 hole hanger.

Ok all you enablers... I have one Halichoeres Melanurus (female) and one Halichoeres Leucoxanthus (also female). I went to the store today and my wife didn't say no.... I can get a second Halichoeres Leucoxanthus (female) if the price is right. Do I go back tomorrow and pick it up or hold off for a Halichoeres Biocellatus? OR do I buy the Leucoxanthus and then if I win one of the Supporter giveaways for the $100 LiveAquaria giveaway get the Biocellatus when it's in stock?

I’d recommend getting the H. biocellatus just to not risk the biscuits as you already have two established Halichoeres, now adding a second that looks the same may result in the original Leuco feeling pressured and territoral and the melanurus being aggressively territorial and may even change its mind and go for the original Leuco. Plus the biocellatus adds some more diversity of color to the tank. Not saying you can’t add the other leuco, just that your more at risk. My vote is biocellatus.

I trust you on this. Horrible at enabling but good information and good looking out! Still enabled me on the Biocellatus so we're solid.

A couple changes:
IMG_20230430_162410307.jpg

Broke the hanger today for the Acros trying to clean the Ulva off of it...
Also added a 1600 gph power head under the Fuge for a little more flow. We'll see how everyone likes it.

Not all of them are open yet. Picked out some bubble algae and zapped a couple of aiptasia.

I don’t think I’ve seen your tank before. It’s epic! Love the rock work. Zoas are looking good! I’m excited to see that nem nest in action.
I don't have a Nem Nest though. That's @stoney7713 . He wants one instead of free ranging.

Oh my bad was just scrolling through. Pretty cool design @stoney7713. I know the printers are pretty affordable now. Is the media needed to make something like that cheapish?

Okay, I’ll go back to the beginning, brb in 6 hours lol
