Wow this is quite an immense tank! I'm glad to have found this thread. Great progress @Lukelebeau! Keep us updated
What are you going to add next? By the way, I like Spotcinctus Clownfish, I don't see them often on R2R.
@SantaMonicaHelp work is slowing down as summer comes to an end...unfortunately so will the build.
I'm working on an electrical / storage cabinet so it's separate from the tank....then im going to work on my fuge...hopefully a vortech mp40 and dosing system in the near future.
Well I have noticed a couple white spots on my fish over the past week or two. Hasn't been too bad of an outbreak.....I started dosing polyp labs medic to give the fish some temporary relief but I believe that to be the cause of the white slimy bacteria. I haven't used the "ich cure stuff" in a few days and the slime has gotten significantly better. Got a rinky dinky little fish hospital setup and going to transfer the fish over as soon as it cycles.
Haven't updated here in a while.....been pretty bummed with the way things have been going with my fish. I transfered everybody over to a hospital tank a few days ago I let them get used to the HT for a day or so before treating with cuprimine.
Everybody was eating fine, so I started my cuprimine treatment. I thought it would be wise to do half the dose the instructions told me to do, so there was no possible way I could have overdosed. Cupramine was in yesterday when I got home from work....monitored the tank all night everything seemed o.k. tested for copper and read .10 fed the fish went to bed. This morning I woke up...my sailfin tang (the fattest healthiest fish only had a few ich spots on him) and my spotinctus clown were dead.
Getting the fish out of the tank was dang near impossible, never had to do it before, so lack of experience was probably why it was so hard.
So I got frustrated and took everytging out of the tank, I ended up doing a completely different scape. My old scape was riddled with tunnels so it was quite the detritus trap.
