DAILY QUESTION: What are factors that you consider important when choosing a reef light? Why did you choose the light that you are currently using on your reef tank?

Controllability, price, mounting options, and aesthetics. I'm using my current lighting fixture simply because it came with the tank.

DAILY QUESTION: How does the Sun & Moon Synchronization feature of the Natura iCon benefit your reef tank?

It's cool that it encourages coral spawning. I've never done it and I think it would be a cool thing to encourage. While my current icon does it, it would be cool to have a second light that does that.

DAILY QUESTION: What challenges have you faced with previous reef lighting systems?

With lights I had prior to my upgrade to an icon, it was getting the needed par and spread. My pervious light had a challenging app that wasn't very customizable. Orphek's app is great.

"All natural" is suppose to be better for us, right? I don't see why the natural light synchronization isn't better for our marine critters.

value, control (app), par and spectrum.
I chose my K7s because of value. I chose my photons mainly because I wanted a panel led rather than pucks because the tank is in a room that I did not want all the light spill that comes with puck style leds.

Natural rhythms should benefit all of the inhabitants of the tank, not just the corals and I suspect it would make the biggest difference to wild caught or first generation captive inhabitants.
