I purchased these kamoers from amazon to rig up to hydros drive ports and use for auto water changing. They say the tubing is 6.4 mm. Or 1/4.

I am replacing the hose barbs that come with it with these from BRS so I can adapt straight to RODI tubing.

The barbs that come with it look almost identical, maybe slightly bigger, and the new barbs fit kind of loosely. I like to struggle when I put a barb in but these come out a little easy.

I am going to test it but fear a leak could develop later.
Would a 5/16" just be way too big?

Should I just use the original barbs in the pump head and some 1/4" ID tubing to then adapt to RODI tubing.
I guess this is what I'll do but I wanted to use as few connections as possible to prevent leaks.
