Are all the other parameters where you like them? If so, can you just add Alk from Red Sea or another brand, All for Reef it is just to maintain parameters, as I understand it.

7.1 is not that bad either, my recommendation is to just add Alk because I know nothing about kalkwasser and baking soda hahaha, wait until the morning for the Smorgasbord family to wake up and then they can help you more.

What's your pH? I use Baking Soda because my pH can use a boost. If you have higher pH I think you want to use Soda Ash (baked baking soda). Both are super easy to use and there's an easy calculator.

Total System Volume is like 85% of your tank+sump gallons

Nothing wrong with 7.1.
I use ME Coral alkalinity only when ph is low, soda ash if ph is high, which it rarely is.
With the alk only, I use 1/2 cup added to water and pour in sump or tank.
Takes ph up perfectly too.

yeah, my ph does tend to run lower. i think ill give baking soda a try. is that something you add daily?
Add as needed. My tank goes through about 0.4 tsp of baking soda worth of alkalinity daily so I dose every couple of days. It's better to keep it constant and dose multiple times a day but I'm lazy. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:
