Are all the other parameters where you like them? If so, can you just add Alk from Red Sea or another brand, All for Reef it is just to maintain parameters, as I understand it.thanks guys. give your furry friend an extra pat/rub.
gotta get my mind on something else.
my alk has been dropping. im guessing its because of more corals. should i start up kalkwasser? or what do you recommend? its currently at 7.1 and id like to get it back up in the 8s. i do dose all for reef. thats all
7.1 is not that bad either, my recommendation is to just add Alk because I know nothing about kalkwasser and baking soda hahaha, wait until the morning for the Smorgasbord family to wake up and then they can help you more.yeah that was my understanding too. my numbers are nitrate 36.8, alk.-7.1, phos.-.34, cal.-495, mag1490. i think i just want to change the alk, right? trying to figure out whether to do kalkwasser or baking soda. my mind doesnt seem to be working . just trying to get it were it should be before my corals come on thurs
What's your pH? I use Baking Soda because my pH can use a boost. If you have higher pH I think you want to use Soda Ash (baked baking soda). Both are super easy to use and there's an easy calculator.thanks guys. give your furry friend an extra pat/rub.

Still not approved. It should be around noon. My first article didn't get approved til noon the next day. After that they trust you so I don't think they need to approve it before it goes public.Says it's published but awaiting publishing...

Nothing wrong with 7.1.yeah that was my understanding too. my numbers are nitrate 36.8, alk.-7.1, phos.-.34, cal.-495, mag1490. i think i just want to change the alk, right? trying to figure out whether to do kalkwasser or baking soda. my mind doesnt seem to be working . just trying to get it were it should be before my corals come on thurs
Add as needed. My tank goes through about 0.4 tsp of baking soda worth of alkalinity daily so I dose every couple of days. It's better to keep it constant and dose multiple times a day but I'm lazy.yeah, my ph does tend to run lower. i think ill give baking soda a try. is that something you add daily?
