I tried to prepare as much as I could for the move, but the reality of the situation is I would have to move it alone, in one go. I didn't get started until about 9:30pm

I had (5) 5 gallon buckets filled with tank water and placed the rocks in these. The fish and coral were all bagged up individually and placed in coolers. The sand was thrown out. Everything went pretty well, but my McCosker wrasse took a leap and hit the floor. He was quickly placed into a bag, but he may have sustained an injury. More on that shortly. After the breakdown and lengthy drive, I didn't get to the new house until around 2:30am.
Instead of pulling an all nighter, I decided to bring everything inside, put the 2 heaters I had in 2 of the buckets and placed the bags of coral and fish in the buckets to keep warm. It was pushing 3:30 when I got to bed and set the alarm for 8a.
Upon waking up, everything appeared to still be alive so I got to setting up the tank, drilled holes in the wall for the light brackets, and made 25 gallons of fresh saltwater. New sand was put in and then I tried to stack the rocks as close to the original as possible. Not 100% the same, but close enough.
I believe it was around 1pm before the tank was setup and water temp was stable so I got to work on the livestock. It was here that I noticed my wrasse was gone. I can only think it was likely the jump that injured him. Still, this was the only loss I had. All other fish, inverts, and corals survived the move!

Thanks for stopping by! It did look great for a little while, but things have since changed so it ain't so pretty anymore. I have some catching up to do.

With everything running stable for a few weeks, I decided to replace my lost McCosker Wrasse with this nice Line Spot Wrasse. He seemed very healthy and ate like a champ. All was well until my wife called me one day while at work to inform me it was laying dead in the rocks. It had only been in the tank for about 6 weeks. It was rather sudden for sure and I don't know what took him.

Just before moving, my Citron Goby was beginning to look skinny. He ate like a pig and never turned down a meal, but as the months progressed, he got even more skinny. He had been in the tank since November of 2022 and was always a fun fish to watch. My guess is maybe an internal parasite? I believe issues started around Jan/Feb of 2023, but didn't get bad until April or so. He finally died around early July. He was a family favorite so we'll be getting another one day.
As of right now, I still just have the pair of clowns and the RG. They are going on 2 years now.

The golden months. I had a short period of time (May, June, early July 2023) where things looked fantastic. I found some really good deals on 3 torches (cotton candy, 24k, and NY Knicks) so I added them and they were loving the tank. All other corals were beginning to grow again and my tank looked great. Lots of color, lots of movement. Finally, a tank to be proud of.

I ended up trading this chalice to the lfs when I bought the torches. It was cool, but I was looking for more color. As it grew, it reminded me of a triceratops head.
