I’m good staying out. Thanks.@Reefer Matt you are still in if you want to be in.
If it had just been two months, I'd have no issue, however I'm showing three months missed. I don't think we can do that based on the current rules, however I'd like to get the opinion of the others as well.@Reefing102 @Troylee @Jasonak @Mschmidt
I was wondering if i could rejoin the contest as i did miss the last 2 months for a complete tank move into a new house and i thought i lost the efflo but its coming back great. I can get a pic right away if i can get back in. Thanks

Unfortunately rules are rules.. I mean they could post them for fun but it wouldn’t count towards the prize… I’m not against it myself but we would have to have every person in the contest agree and I feel some wouldn’t be happy about it..If it had just been two months, I'd have no issue, however I'm showing three months missed. The nutrients are going down!! Congrats!@Mschmidt @Reefing102 @Jasonak @Troylee
Moving next month so this may be the end for me. We'll see though how she ships...
N still high, but my indescriminant LaCl dosing has paid off. Don't be me kids, measure before you dose. The nutrients are going down!! Congrats!

I'm good with p where it's at, down from .6-.8. The swing probably didn't do me any favors though.Your phosphate levels are killing your acro… I’ve read that LaCl doesn’t help unless whatever it binds to is removed by filter media.

I got ways to filter it out. lacl splits losing the cl and making lapo4 which is insoluble. I snow as well, thinking that since la also will bind to caco3, it will bind as lapo4caco3 making something big enough to get caught in the socks. whatever happens, the po4 is no longer accessible to anything.
tbh, I'm much more worried about the stress of three tanks in two months and a cross-country flight than I am about p over .1.
for a humanities major, I sure do know a lot about this particular corner of chemistry. I'm slowly working on an article about LaCl. Not finding the answers I want (why do some tangs sometimes handle it poorly) but am learning a lot about it. That said, I have a neat little graph in my signature that is always applicable. That’s cool;, didn’t know about the chemistry part that well. Seemed like whatever I researched several months back made it seem impractical for me to apply because I don’t like using filter socks. The less things I have to clean the better. Haha. Yeah, your PO4 NO3 numbers are looking much better now. Good’ol granular ferric oxide is working fantastic for binding my phosphates. Also have to dose Nitrate, about 30-45 ml of B-Ionic per week to maintain about 10ppm NO3. I don’t know why my NO3 is consumed though! Haha
Thales tank was over 1.0ppm for a good while. He had different acropora.
Rich Ross - Home Tank - guess the phosphate
This tank was built before r2r, here is a link to some links about the build. http://packedhead.net/home-reef/ Current test results: 03-17-2017 Ammonia (NH3-4) Good 0 0.000 - 0.050 mg/L 03-17-2017 Nitrite (NO2) Good 0.006 0.000 - 0.100 mg/L 03-17-2017 Phosphate...www.reef2reef.com
Although now it’s lower, I think around 0.2ppm, ever since he started using lanthanum. I don’t think he uses any filter socks; just a protein skimmer.
