Has anyone had any experience with the aquarium systems seatest test kits? any reviews/experiences? cant find anything on them, my LFS recommended them but im getting "odd" or just unexpected readings and dont know if i 100% trust them yet. Im using the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate test kits of...
So I just spent quite a bit on a 25 pack of 5-in-1 test strips. After having gotten home and using 2 already, I realized that the precision of the strips is sorely lacking, and that I could have gotten a 100 pack for a bit less than I paid for the 25 on Amazon. Of course, I had looked before I...
Phosphate ULR Hanna checker with 25 reagent
Salifert Nitrate test kit with at least 45 tests left
Salifert Mag, Alk, and Ca test kits in Red Seas enclosure
All kits for $80 shipped
Not separating.
All pms asking to separate will be ignored.
I'm just getting started and wondering if there are any recommendations for water testing equipment? I was eyeballing the Seneye Reef Aquarium Monitor, but am seeing a lot of mixed reviews. Hanna has a lot of individual digital testers. Is there something like the seneye with better reliability...
Anyone have their LFS tell them that their Alkalinity and Magnesium are low and should be dosed but your own test kits are telling you otherwise? Both LFS and myself are using Salifert test kits and testing the same water sample.
Alkalinity:
LFS 7.85
Me 8.3
Magnesium:
LFS 1290
Me 1500+
When the syringe reads 0.3ml on the Alk Test kit from Red Sea what is the value? I get confused when reading it backwards if anyone can help that would be great thanks a bunch. Maybe a photo with some pointers on it also to help others out if they need to learn to read it also.

How come I test calcium using API and get 390 and then when i tested calcium with Hanna Tester it says 550? I’ve read the manual a million times and watched videos on how to use the Hannah tester so I’m confident I’m using it correctly. Any help/ideas?
Hi R2R Community!
My FIRST POLL! Some quick background: I’m a numbers and data guy so I love it when people post polls and give feedback. I can’t tell you how many purchases in this hobby because of that. This morning while testing nitrates I was having trouble finding the right color to match...
So I have been using a API nitrate test since I first started my tank, it has seemed pretty reliable but it has just run out so I thought id try the red sea pro test, bought the kit with phosphate aswell.
The issue I'm having is that the API test was saying my nitrates are at 10 but I've just...
Hi everyone, I'm sure this has been answered numerous times but I can't find a comparison thread with these 2 specific tests.
Hanna is out of my price range before you ask ;)
I see that a lot of people get zero readings on their Salifert kits, hopefully that means their actual levels are close...
OK, so it's water test day... Wondering what you all make of these numbers (keep in mind we did all tests twice, just to be sure). My biggest issue is Alkalinity. We're going to retest today after we recalibrate our KH Director to see if it ends up closer to our Hanna tester. Which ones do we...

Question: If you own a Trident, do you still perform manual tests with the test kits that you used prior to acquiring a Trident, such as Salifert, Hanna, Red Sea, et al. Why do you, or do you not, perform manual tests?
I tried searching for threads that involve discussions about whether Trident...
I’m moving soon and need to shut down my tank as we are building a house and will need to rent for a few months.
Trying to sell everything locally only, so if you’re interested and in the Minneapolis, MN area, feel free to PM. I’m in Savage, MN for you locals.
The tank is in great shape and...
So I just received my new reefbot.
I am surprised to report that it cannot test 8 different things as one setup.
I am able to test Alk. Calcium. Mag. And phosphates.
So even though there are 8 vials in the machine some test kits require multiple reagents for a single test.
I guess I will need...
Finally about to place my order for some decent test kits. I would use these along with the api test kit (ammonia, ph, nitrate, nitrite). Just wondering if this should be Enough for a tank with mostly lps/soft, looking to move into sps more soon.
I'm working on designing an organizer tray for my test kits. Tired of them in boxes. I plan to make them as modular blocks that can be joined together. So it can be customized to anyone's specific kits. Part of it will be a vial drying rack also.
I have most Red Sea Pro kits...
I know...I have a problem. I was organizing my supply cabinet and realized I have clearly accumulated more test kits than should ever be necessary. BUT it has been helpful having everything I need at arms reach, and the ease of use of these kits has caused me to test consistently, which I’m...
Hello all,
I won a Fluval Mini Master Test Kit and have no need for it. They sell between $30-$35, I'm asking $25.
These test kits are all pretty old but they read close enough to my salifert/API test kits for quick testing. $25 for the whole lot plus the pH stabilizer and salinity meter...
so i have been using Api for years now and have heard theyre like bottomline. I technically didnt do water changes on my tank for 3 months(i did but only twice) cause i ran out of salt and didnt buy a new bucket cause i was thinking of switching salts idk why it took me so long. But well yea ive...
Ok guys, so I'm sure some of you have seen that I post a lot but this is the first time I'm putting a solid effort into finally setting up my reef tank and I'm trying to do everything right. I have been watching a ton of videos and trying to learn as much as I can but there's a lot of...
As my tank is maturing so are my methods -- and I wanted to share the first of my side by side.
Like many out there, I started with the reasonably priced and easily available API Test Kits and have relied on them for the first months of my tanks existence with good results to date - fish alive...
