I can't remember when we got this, but I'm pretty sure we were told it's a small piece of blue leather coral. At the time, we didn't question it, but just for kicks, the other day I tried to get a better identification and well, could not find anything, but saw some sponges which look similar...

OK. I'm looking to fine tune a Ricordea florida exhibit at work.
Some of them look fine, but others are shrinking and I cannot put my finger on why.

Hey again. I have a very large Devils hand in my 55 gallon mixed reef, along with many many loose fingers and small devils hands that drop off frequently. It's very healthy, but perhaps not happy at the moment. I say that because while it looks great, it doesn't have any polyp extension lately...
I got a small piece of gsp for free when I bought a clownfish, and it is not attached to anything. I put it in a bowl-shaped rock so it would attach, but so far it hasn't done anything but blow around. Is there a way I can attach the gsp chunk without hurting the coral?
Well, sort of.... We have 2 cut to order single polyp frags available on our website. We have had this one simmering in our farm system for some time and finally snagged a picture last week. Enjoy!
Just moved my duncan to a different spot this morning. I came back this afternoon to this. Mouth is hard to see but looks opened up. I have other duncans close by that are doing just fine. And I didn't move him far from where he was. Maybe 5 inches. This particular duncan had been acting strange...
Is this blue clove coral? If so, should I get rid of it right away? Or can it be isolated on an island? I just bought a couple hammer/zoa frags from a guy the other day and saw these in his tank. I'm new to this so I asked what they were. I can't remember what he said, but he said it's his...

I bought this coral about a month ago, and I was told it was green star polyps, but now I'm not so sure. Can someone give me a definite answer? Thanks!
Hey all,
Thought we could start a thread on how to run a successful refugium. These are important, yet often overlooked, aspects of our ecosystems. Any advice to beginners and advanced aquarists alike would be valued.
Thanks and happy reefing.

I haven't been able to get a solid ID on this guy but I really like its uniqueness and would like to continue to see it thrive.
Sorry for blues pictures -- coral is more open and happy -- all I have currently. It is generally brown, and looks like a common base with multiple openings - I...
In general, what should someone keep an eye out when buying colonies? What do you look for besides good polyp extension and making sure the corals aren't covered in pests.
As of now, I have several zoa frags and few LPS like Acans and euphyllia, all of these are very small and to be honest it...
Hello guys, how is it going? I’ve added this GSP coral to my tank 2 weeks ago, and I’m very happy with it. I love how it glows under the blue light. And I’m wondering what should I add next? I’m afraid of zoas, because they are toxic, and I’m not sure about pulsing xenias because they don’t glow...
Hey guys so I decided I wanted to post my build to share with you guys and also to monitor my progression of my tank over time. I started this tank out in October of last year and transferred two old tanks into this one[live rock, fish, and corals]. I built the stand from 2x4 and 3/4 in plywood...
Hello! -------------------------ANY INSIGHT WOULD BE AMAZING!--------------------------------------
BACKGROUND:
I recently purchased a giant toadstool from my local LFS. Someones tank blew up in there living room and they had gotten a lot of corals/fish. Saw this giant toadstool he was not...
After a spontaneous purchase with my girlfriend who asked, "Can we get Nemos?" I was thrown head first into the hobby. I had a few freshwater tanks growing up (I also could not keep anything alive for too long), but never saltwater. I have recently added some new live rock and a coral-cabable...
32 stock biocube lights, let’s see your scheduled programs what’s working for you .... my corals color is good but growing a little slow lately, maybe mine need a tweak, softies and some medium light lps only
I have a big spread of Zoas coming in tomorrow for my Zoa dominant tank (currently without coral). They are going into a MAX-E 170 with Hydra 26s. The seller I am buying from says that they are coming from tanks with 90-200 par (depending on distance from light). My tank is mostly 80-240 par (to...
Frag was listed as long tentacled xenia but ive never heard of it so i googled it and nothing came up either looking like the one in the pic. Anyone know what kind of xenia it is or is it even a xenia
