Someone locally was selling these just as Euphyllia.
Not sure exactly what type they are. To me they seem like a mix between frogspawn with a torch? Some of the tentacles have multiple heads to them. That’s why I think it’s a mix between the two.
Any idea how much these are worth? Srry if the...
Hello my friend purchased me this coral.
he said it’s a hammer. I’m not sure if it’s a hammer or torch.
Is it a gold head hammer? It’s tentacles extend pretty far.
Hello yesterday one if the heads had a small white dot. Didn’t think it could be anything.
I’m new to Euphyllia so I’m not sure if this is normal.
Today I looked the white spot is bigger and another spot popped up on another head. What is this??
Hello I don’t believe this was here the other day
Lights are out now but when the lights are on it stays fully extended. Just want to make sure it’s not dying on me. Been in the tank 3 weeks haven’t seen any problems.
And yes the coral was dipped before putting it into my tank.
I'm a big fan of really all euphyllia in general, but recently I've been really impressed with some of the Indos I've been seeing.
I picked up a really cool frag of an Indo frogspawn I hadn't seen before. Green tips with like a gold mouth.
Anyway, figured I'd post a Frogspawn show off thread...
Hello, I was thinking about buying this hammer coral.
I'm not 100% sure if its healthy or not. They had recently moved it so not sure if its fully opened? I haven't seen a hammer that looks like this online. Been looking up hammers for awhile and saw this one at the LFS.
Its also 100$ it has 5...
Hello all! Hopefully this is I'm the right place... If it is not, please forgive me. I've been seeing a decline in only my euphyllia recently, and I'm at my wit's end as to what could be happening. I've tried everything, and checked all parameters (listed below). Everything else seems to be...
This is a very special Anniversary for us and we are happy to be celebrating it with you. 8 years ago Unique Corals started its journey in Sunny California, and in a blink of an eye here we are. As we reflect on these past years, we can't help but feel immensely grateful for our UC supporters...
Hi, I have a large 300 gallon mixed reef aquarium, with the following parameters: temp between 76-78, pH between 7.88 and 8.01, and alk around 9.1. I just did some service to my sump, and I noticed that two hose clamps I had attached to my return pump, which are about 2 years old, were covered...
Hi, I have been having troubles with my frogspawn. I was hoping to grow a big colony but the heads on some frags seem to be receeding. The tentacles barely extend and stay very short. However my hammer coral is doing very well and extends well too.
This is in my low tech nano tank. I am good...
Today I've noticed that my blue torch isn't opening up as much like usual. I took a closer look and realized what looks to be parts of tissue injury or damage. At a specific region, a few tentacles seem damaged or heavily retracted/gone. I wasn't able to spot anything brown or jelly-like, so I...
I just got this torch yesterday, it opened up within an hour and was looking really good. Towards the night it started inflating in a way and when I woke up this is what it looked like. I also got a hammer as well and it looks perfectly fine. These are my first euphyllia so don’t really know...
I’m not too sure what’s going on here, I have had this hammer coral for more than 6 months. This hammer has been healthy and has not thrown any signs of distress before. Yesterday however I noticed that this hammer had begun to close. I thought after some time it would open back up. However I...
I collect rare torches and last year was sold this awesome piece called “OG Holy Grail”. I was warned the torch was a slow grower which has proven to be true - a year later the single head is nearly 30% larger and show no signs of splitting.
The torch originally was a vibrant yellow with blue...
I just cut off the powerhead to feed the corals and this is what I notice.
It looks like it is ripped away from its base. Flow is pretty relaxed in the tank and it has been extended the most I've ever seen it the past few days along with the rest of my euphyllia. This is the first time I've...
