Hi all,
I have an RBTA that I purchased in the hopes my clowns would host it (and they recently have started to - yay!)
However, I think its health has been steadily declining since I got it in November. It deflates and turns grayish about once a day, but I don’t directly feed it super often...

Hey guys, i’m finally getting into corals! I’ve got some credit from the LFS aswell (about 275$ ) and i wanted to get into reefing anyways. I currently have 4 BTA’s and 4 clowns, 1 blue tang, 1 six line wrasse, 1 coral beauty, green damsel, fox face rabbit fish and a “rock dweller” i think...
I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations on why my LPS and zoas are showing very slow growth. I have a Fluval Evo with an AI prime light. I just got Seifert tests in the mail today to test all my levels.
I am currently dosing 2 part 1.25ml of B Ionic 2 part. This tank has been running...
ok so i just did research for a while like a really long time on my anemone and i thought it was a bacterial infection but it turns out it’s actually starving.
so i’m just wondering if there’s anything i can do besides giving him a small pencil sized eraser peice of shrimp a day can i soak it...
Hello,
I have a 20 gal long reef tank (30"x12"x12"), and I am currently using the 24"-36" Fluval marine and reef LED light 25000K 32 Watt on it (I can still return). I have a couple of clowns, a royal gramma, some CUC, a BTA, and a small hammer coral. The BTA and coral don't look so good at the...
For about the last couple of nights my BTA has been doing this, I've been feeding him ReefRoids and it looks as if he is sucking on his tentacles for the RR. I'm a bit on edge with his mouth being open and I'm curious to know your guy;s thoughts on him.
BTW, this is the first night where it...
I got this BTA back in August and it’s grown a bit too. Overall it’s pretty healthy. Sometimes at night after I feed it though, it will just throw up all the food completely undigested.
The pic I attached is currently right now and I fed the BTA 9 hours ago. For it’s size, I would assume it...
I woke up this morning to find that my 8” BTA split. Okay.
On closer examination, it looks like she isn’t finished yet (check out the photos).
Care wise, should I do anything or be worried? That’s a lot of energy being used in such a short amount of time.
How long does it usually take for...
Hey guys! A couple of days ago I got a beautiful Green Bubble Tip anemone and a Maroon clown from the LFS. They were doing great, but the anemone during the night got sucked into my Jebao OW-2. Luckily I saw it quite soon after it happened, and immediately turned it off and angled it so that the...
I just got this anemone and and drip acclimated for like 1 hour and put it in like 20 minutes ago I just want to know if it looks fine because it is deflated
Sorry if this has been posted/asked before. I have about 17 anemones in my aquarium. I started with 2 originally and they've split several times. They are BTAs but they only bubble sometimes as everyone knows already. My question is why do some of my nems have their mouth sticking out. I'm not...
My tank is a 10 gallon bta tank, hoping to fill it up with lots of bta and splits to spread the love of bta. ATM using a kessil 160we 6inches above water. Current bta are 4 rainbow , 1 black widow, and possibly sunburst. There’s some zoa frags, a gsp, Xenia, and a dragon tongue algae. I have...
Hello everyone, I just brought it home yesterday and am super stressed about it.. I placed in a spot I liked, woke up to it in an entirely new spot ( I know is typical). I have a mix of corals in the tank, so i know if they are healthy or not. But I am new to anemones, so I was wondering If you...
I bought a small bubble tip Anemone Friday 6/12/20. It looked good in the store; vibrant colors, holding on the container. It was about the size of a half dollar. When I brought it home I immediately began in-the-bag acclimation over the course of an hour and a half. It was open and sticking to...

Are pom pom crabs safe with bta as I know that the pom pom crab carries anemones in its claws? Will this be an issue. I can't seem to find a thread about this. Everything I've seen says they are reef safe
I am looking at buying a bubble tip anemone for my reef tank. The only thing that is putting me off is that my favourite coral is attached to some Rock in a way that means I cannot move it. All of my other coral is free and easy to move out of an anemones way whilst if finds its footing but the...
Hey all -
So I’ve had this rainbow BTA in my tank for around a year. After a while, one instantaneously became three, which are all now pretty much dominating space in my tank.
Today I noticed one moved from it’s preferred spot. I was doing some maintenance and saw this in it’s old spot...
Aiptasia Eating Filefish and Bubble Tip Anemone
I have been cleaning up a frag tank of mine and I have an aptasia problem. I previously had success with an Aiptasia Eating Filefish but traded him to another reefer once I got a fixed the problem. I got rid of him because he was eating my soft...
I bought a BTA (which was sold to me as a LTA :/ ) and it would not stop moving around my tank at first. It eventually walked all over a patch of zoas. I noticed after this a pink slime-like substance at the roots of the zoas, and honestly thought they had been stung and were as good as dead...
Hello everyone,
I've had my BTA for a quite a while now and it was doing great for the first 3 months I had it. Great color, size, and length of tentacles. One day he decided to move from his spot in my tank and ever since he has been quite a bit smaller and not willing to open. Pictured is the...
I got 2 BTA 3 days ago for my 3 month old 30 gallon tank. I am well aware it’s a new tank. Is this normal or should I be concerned? I have an established 60 gallon tank I could move them to just not sure if I should or not. Please give me some advice!
