I know this is a big mystery.. at least I have not heard of anyone solving it yet. One thing I have noticed with my BTAs if I don't feed them for a week or so they lose their bubbles and stretch out. As soon as I give them some shrimp or coral food they plump right up and get their bubbles back...
Hello, I’m new to this forum and looking for some help. I’ve got a fairly newly cycled 500ltr aquarium and a dozen fish/inverts and a single soft coral. Just added a pink BTA today and place its door in a gap in the rock and it’s just flopped over and looks lifeless not moving. Its tentacles are...
Hi All,
I was on holdiay and came back yesterday, someone was feeding the fish etc when I was gone.
I noticed my Anemone moved to under a rock and I'm not sure how long it's been there for.I flipped the rock to try and get it to move but It's not looking good at the moment. Is there anything...
Up for sale is a large Colorado Sunburst (CSB) bubble tip anemone. I originally received my CSB from r2r user Maximus (Sang Lee) years ago. His CSBs have lineage back to the original source of the Colorado Sunburst, Keys Island (Ki) Aquarium in Colorado. WYSIWYG. This a healthy and nice sized...
Added a new BTA a few weeks ago, and they dived into it within two days. They’ve had nems before, never shown an interest, but this one, they seemed curious about on its first day, now they can’t get enough of it. I expected to wait months, not days for them to get into it.
enjoy some photos of...
I’ve had this RBTA for about three weeks and it has not opened up at all and occasionally will eat mysis shrimp and reef roids when target fed not sure what to do first picture is the day I added it to the aquarium and the second is today
Tank is about 3-1/2 months old
Hi everyone,
I have recently added an SRBTA to my 20 gallon AIO. The nem looked healthy when receiving shipment and did well during the acclimation process and has found itself a nice spot in the rocks. I have a RedSea ReefLED50 and will attach a photo of my lighting schedule below. I’m a little...
Selling my 2 year old healthy peaceful, puppy-like Longhorn Cowfish. No disease, eats nori and every frozen food. Eats from hand and love being pet. He does not bother any corals. My tank cannot support the bioload and thus this post.
Selling for $100
(you can't find such big and beautiful...
Okay... lifeline time. :)
I got my BTA 5 years ago. Started around 3in fully opened. My clown fish immediately took up residence. For 4 years it grew and thrived up to probably 8+ inches across. About a year ago it split which was so amazing! One died off - who knows why. The other...
Hello everyone I have a Green Bubble tip Anemone in a fully cycled quarantine tank and it looks like it’s doing excellent. But I Do have some questions?? I ordered an apogee MQ 510 and checked the par in the quarantine tank where the anemone is currently at and it was only about 30 par and 60...
See attached pictures of Nems i am selling. I have had them for over 1 year and they split a couple of times and are 3" to 5" (rainbows) and 8" Hawaiian punch and Colorado Wildfire
The Hawaiian punch is long slendar tentacles with green base and pinkish tentacles $80 each

I’ve had this lineage going for about the past 10-12 years that all started from a single Sherman I got in the DFW area (like most who have these).
These guys are extremely hardy, I don't think I've ever had one die on me in the 10+ years I've had them. They don't move around a lot, once they...
Hi folks, I have an IM Fusion 15 gallon AIO cube with two clown fish and a few BTA's. I was wondering if this NICREW 30W Reef LED Aquarium Light I purchased off Amazon is sufficient for the health of my BTA's.
The reviews do say that people have successfully used this light for their anemones...
Tank is 1 and half years old. Params are all good. Bought this thing from LFS while it’s splitting and I got it for a price of one. However, in my main tank it won’t stick to any rock, so I put it in a basket and then through the holes it started to come through and sliced some of its parts...
I have 2 rainbow BTA in my tank, a bigger one and smaller one. Both came from the same BTA, just split.
Although the smaller one likes to bubble all nice and puffy, the other one just extends its tentacles and body towards the light.
Bigger one also has greener coloration and smaller more...
I have had this bubble tip anemone for over 1.5 years, and it has done excellent, showing lots of growth in that time. The last few days, though, it has been struggling, going through inflation and deflation cycles 2-3 times a day. The times that it is inflated, it isn't fully extended, though...
So I have a bubble tip anemone that split today. My parameters are all good, salinity has been consistent and stable, tank is mature and lots of coralline algae growing, no issues in the tank ever since I got it (a little over a month ago) it’s been very colorful, full of air, very big and...
I’ve attached a video of my anemone tank. Wanting an ID on them. Lots of people have told me they are black widows. But would like to confirm with others before I sell and label them as black widows since the price difference is significant. Let me know if you can’t view the video I can attach a...
I believe my tank is finally established enough to house a BTA. The only thing is that I may have gotten a few (too many) coral while I was waiting for my tank to mature. Here’s a picture of my current scape, and I planned to trade in that duncan coral on the right side and give the BTA that...

I have one 3-4+" ReefWise Lemon Drop anemone available. Getting too big for my tank haha. Not a natural split, but it has healed since the end of May 2022. Super healthy! I have heard people refer to these as Chicago Sunburst anemones in the "yellow" phase, but since I purchased them as ReefWise...
Well here we go again.. I just had to look at the saltwater section in petco and see they had lightning maroon clowns for only $60! Then one of my dream tanks showed up on craigslist for only $80! Like, am I just supposed to not get back into saltwater?
I've been out of the hobby for six...
I got a bubble tip anenome today (I know it’s bleached, I couldn’t get a good look at it in the store. any good tips for having to come back besides frequent feedings/good Params) and in a few hours it’s moved to this underhang in my rock, but I’m not sure how to feed it since frozen food floats...
