Hello!
So I have a 75 gallon aquarium set up. It has a few soft coral and a few LPS atm. My goal for my tank is for it to be a soft coral dominated with a hand full of lps here and there tank.
I don't like the fact that If I want to start doing two part, that I will need to to do mandatory...

Automated Water Changes
Automation is all the rage these days, with a sizable percentage of reefers believing that a controller is essential to the keeping of a reef tank. It's not, but it is a nice-to-have as long as you are sensible...
i want to setup an auto water change with dosing pumps. I want to use Neptune systems or GHL and I’m leaning toward Neptune, but the cost is very high. I was just wondering the thoughts of other reefers in the community??? And maybe what setups others are using?
Since my calcium reactor cant seem to keep up with my alkalinity needs, would it be feasible to dump some kalk into my saltwater container? I've implemented automatic water change of about 7500ml/day. Would there be issues like clogging the lines, burning up my DOS, screwing up the chemistry?
I’ve never made a build thread. Figured I’d give it a shot. I currently have a 105g DSA tank and have tangs and a trigger that are outgrowing it. I purchased a 140g tank that has been floating around a few local members and was never set back up. Tank is 60x30x18 and the fish should like it...
I just picked up an AutoAqua AWC/ATO for my IM 40 system. I'm in the process of setting up a water change/mixing station and needed an ATO solution for the RODI reservoir. While looking at the options that I'd trust, I decided my existing Hydrofill was going to be a safe bet but left my tank...
Here is a do-not attempt to DIY o_O
I ordered a Dual Head Peristaltic pump off ebay for ~$30 for an Auto Water Change system.. Do a search and I'll bet you can find it.
Upon testing the dual head for even rate, I found that they were around 8-10ml/min off from one another.
Figured I would let...
The Question:
Is Doing an Auto water change as effective as a traditional drain first then refill change? It would seem to me that a concurrent WC would not remove as much NO3 and PO4 as a traditional change. Any thoughts on this?
Some Background: I'm in the midst of a new tank build, so of...
Really looking for to an in depth look at AWC systems and options - specifically what salt mix can be stored in a reservoir and the viability of the practice.
Is this still a slated thing?
Water changes for me consisted of syphoning rodi water into 5 gal buckets in the basement, hauling them up the stairs. I would then mix and heat the saltwater overnight with spare pumps and heaters. Next day I would syphon water from the tank to a mark on the side glass, then pump the new water...
