So i've been gradually losing polyps of various zoas overnight, lost a couple of nicer ones, armageddons, a whole frag of sour apples, pinks, and Today, complete frag of purple deaths. SOOOOO very angry, couldnt figure it out... my tank is nudi and spider free, fish-pair of clowsn, sixlines. I've been doin late night tank checks... flashlight on colonies/frags... NADA.
came home from work today...
Mr. Hermit munching away on the purple deaths, He finished 4 polyps and saved one...just the actual polyp left, stalk is hangin by a thread to the plug..
Im pretty angry.. took him out, he's got HUGE claws.
Do not know my id's on hermits, but i'll get a pic.
BAH!

yeah, looks like a zebra hermit. mine were fine when they were small. but as soon as they took over some margarita shells and got bigger, they became a huge annoyance. i threw one into my mantis tank, and then several months later tossed the other one into the mantis tank also.

one didnt like rooming with the mantis and got out of the tank and made it all the way down some stairs until he dried up at the foot of the front door. almost made it to freedom............. lol

I would put him on the floor and stomp on him.......Just a little agression reliever.......Death to Mr. polyp eater.....If I had animations of the roving gang from Frankenstine I would play it......Stomp on him....

Personally I wouldn't kill it, lets not forget it didn't ask to be put in your tank???

If you have a sump why not put it in there or take it to your LFS for rehoming in a non-zoa tank??

Cheers Shelton.
