Hey everyone!
Has anyone experimented with using a Ziss Brine Shrimp Hatchery to culture Copepods or phytoplankton? I feel like it would be super convenient the way it’s made!

That’s a good method! I’ve always fed copepods phytoplankton bc I like to also dose phyto to the tank! I’ve thought about doing a setup similar to yours! I have a Ziss for brine shrimp as I have a freshwater tank too! I may grab 2 or 3 more to do copepods and phyto! For the traditional pod culture method where feeding just phyto, that is GREAT design! Well thought out.
Instead I use the easy lazy banana leaf/skin/peel and spirulina pod culture method for the larger tigger pods, and bottom nozzle would cause me to discard the built up food so instead a higher nozzle for any water changes (happens very rarely in method I use) works better (beverage container - think picnic & lemonade or ice tea container at party). My overall method is dirty (because sometimes spirulina gets into net when scoop... transferring both pods and bit of spirulina over into aquarium each day (3x day))
Yeah - maybe so! I may see if I can modify it to make it more suitable for copepodsPersonally I think the vessel is to small for copepods but it is highly effective for brine . If they sold a bigger size then I think it would work better
