Good afternoon,
Quick synopsis…mature reef,
65 gal
1.025
Nitrate 5
Phos .8
Alk 9.5
Cal 500
Mg 1470
pH 8.1-8.3
Tank been running for 6 years
Running Modified Moonshiners
1000ml kalk

I’ve had the yellow tang for well over a year. Quite healthy or so I thought. Wife noticed ‘white dust’ on him under the actinic lighting in the evening. I’ve noticed it in the past as well but thought nothing of it. There is no noticeable white coloration during the day under white lighting.

Sitting here this morning I noticed a HOLE on his left side and a few noticeable White spots on his dorsal fin. Behavior normal, guessing elevated breathing, eats fine.
Please advise.

Food: frozen blend of mysis, spirulina, rotfers, calanus. Nori a couple times a week.

I do not have means to QT

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

That's a nasty looking lesion. In almost every case, these sorts of things begin with an injury. I see a second YT, but what other fish are in this tank?

Looks like a scalpel swipe injury from another tang and should heal but have some seachem kanaplex on hand in case it develops into an infection
