Hi All, I used this algae scrubber in a 40g system, tank has been up and running for about 7 months now, between the oversized skimmer, refugium, and the HOG1x, my nitrates and phosphates were frequently bottoming out. I started dosing NO3 and P04 to help and have recently simplified my system and decided to remove the refugium and HOG1x. I have a small bioload right now (clownfish, BTA, shrimp)
Purchased this Santa Monica HOG1x on 9/27. It is in excellent condition, It doesn't come with air pump but I will include the one I used with it. Its been on the sump since then, I never was able to get it to seed and grow algae properly. Would be willing to trade locally for bubble tip anemone (I'm Los Angeles/Ventura Area) the one in my tank has been doing well for 3 months now (pic attached)
