Wrasse with injury?

Hey all, I was away for the weekend and came home to my mccoskers wrasse looking beat up. Not sure if it’s aggression or what’s going on. Tank mates are leopard wrasse, large exquisite wrasse, Midas blenny, one spot fox, Tomani tang, and 2 storm clowns.

Can you give some more information - i.e. how long in tank, was it quarantined, the other fish in the tank, etc - (there is a link in my signature to help answer questions). It looks like injury - followed by infection. Could also be a parasitic infection - with mucus reaction. In any case - I would suggest a hospital tank, some better close-ups, and more information

PS the fish has multiple damaged fins - I think it needs to be caught - and put in hospital tank - with at least an antibiotic such as kanamycin or neoplex

from the looks of the tail and fins, this appears to be bite marks and has developed a secondary bacterial infection as suggested by MnFish, will need immediate treatment with use of a broad spectrum treatment with best being either seachem Kanaplex or Maracyn 2 in separate sterile tank and oxygen added via air stone and maintaing good water quality.

+1 on isolating the fish and dosing with antibiotics.
Tough to say what fish could have done this, perhaps the Midas.

That was my thoughts too. I thought maybe the exquisite but they have been in the tank together since January.

Tank is 2 years old. Went fallow after a velvet outbreak and left it that way for about 6-7 months. Ordered quarantined fish from a well known person here so all fish in the tank are from them. The clowns, exquisite, and mccoskers are all from January and the others, leopard, one spot, blenny, and Tomani have been in the tank for about a month.

Can aggression happen with a few days of non feeding. Found out my neighbor completely forgot to feed them, but was only gone for 3 days.

Can aggression happen with a few days of non feeding. Found out my neighbor completely forgot to feed them, but was only gone for 3 days.

Most aggression from similar sized fish is not motivated by hunger, but rather, by territory/space.
