Ok so I bought a Malanurus Wrasse of a fellow hobbyist locally. It’s a mostly fully grown fish about 4”. It’s has never been treated for copper. So i set up a 10g QT to treat with Copper Power. I do not have an ATO setup. The heater is a 100 watt that stays at 78.
Questions.
Is this enough live rock from my sump to handle the bioload? See pic. I have the bubble catcher from my sump I can add as well if needed.
The filter was going in my sump for a week, is that ample for aeration and also for bioload?
Once I dose my copper to 2.5 checked with a Hanna, should I expect my copper to reduce through absorption?
There will be evaporation, do I dose the fresh water with copper to 2.5 every time top it off?
Will I require a WC if my ammonia levels are 0 for the duration of the QT? Salifert ammonia test kit.
Do I wait a day or two prior to dosing the copper to keep stress down? Was a 45 minute transport.
Will anything in the tank be ok to use again once exposed to copper? Sponge filter specifically.
If I have missed anything, please comment. I’m new to this form of QT and appreciate all the help as I want to get it right.
Thanks again for your help folks.
