I purchased a 20 gal cube and stand from a well known manufacturer. When I was assembling the stand the procedure was to insert all the panel 'bolts' along with wooden dowels on the side panels which you then attach to the top and bottom shelves. The bolts have a locking collar that's inserted from the bottom of the shelves. It rotates and locks the bolts in place, Ikea style.
The top shelf holds the tank, the bottom shelf is the only shelf in the stand.
On the side panels there are 3 bolts and 2 dowels that are supposed to insert into the shelves. But the shelves are only drilled for the 3 bolts. No holes for the dowels. See the photos below.
Do I assemble the stand without the dowels and assume the design has changed and put my tank on it ?
