Hi guys,
I have this Milli which was doing fine, randomly after several months I noticed it was doing so good. So I fragged it and placed it somewhere else in the tank. It started to bleach more then it was in its original spot. However the bleaching has stopped now and there are still polyp extensions. Will it fully recover or should I cut my loses. Any tips and info will be grateful.

thanks

Looks more like TN (Tissue Necrosis) than "bleach". On a frag that size I'd try to smear some superglue over the death line since it's too small to frag. It might help, keep it under the water if you an while you do it.
Thanks for the reply, I’ll do some research on TN and try supper glue it.

Is this in a newer tank? What are your water parameters like? How much flow? How long have you had that frag?

I ask these Q's because milles are pretty quick growers, IME, and this one has no encrustation at all that I can see. Has it had any growth? When is the last time it looked 'fuzzy' - milles are known for their super shaggy look when polyps are extended. Do you have any other sps? How are those doing?

Hi, thanks for the reply,
my tank is fairly new it’s 11 months old as of now. I had this acro for around 3 months it was incrusting a little bit and it wasn’t under very high flow but seemed to be okay. About a few days ago I noticed the back half of it seemed like it was bleaching. I then fragged this little piece and put it some more indirect flow as I heard millis prefer that. It started to “ bleach “ as shown in the pics but now has stopped and stayed like that.

Parameters
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Narrate - 10
Phosphate - 0.05
Dkh - 9.8
Cal - 440
Mag - 1250
Ph - 8
S.g - 1.025

Your numbers look great. How was it in terms of color - did it change color from when you first got it? Was it in an area of lower light? Could the area that looked pale have just been shaded? Sometimes corals just don't like the spot that they are in. Good that you are trying a different placement. Please keep us updated.

what's your par? might be your par is to low awhile your alk is that high and your mag is low, seems you stated that it was in direct flow burning the millis on one side causing it to bleach out due to high alk, having alk that high without the proper par and nutrient balance is going to burn the corals....but all in all it seems to be a alk bleaching...
