I’ve been dosing water glass for Dino treatment. Well, I’ve tested my sand bed and I definitely have a massive diatom bloom. Pennete diatoms to be exact. They are doing their job in out competing the Dinos as I have only seen two or three Dino cells per slide. Will diatoms cause my nitrate and phosphate to drop? I have gone from 25+ nitrate to 10 in the matter of a couple of days. Phosphate has also dropped in half. I don’t want to bottom out again. Should I cut back my water glass dosing?
