I watched a YouTube video on the Swissguard basslet, and it said that a Swissguard basslet would compete for pods with a mandarin.
Is it true? Or can I safely introduce one in my 50G together with a mandarin?

I intend to keep a Mandarin in my 50G eventually, and I don't want to keep any fish that will compete with it for copepods.

Thanks a lot for the insights!

They’ll smash the pods. Mandarins can eat mysis tho. Some have to be taught, but by asking to see one eat at your LFS you can find one. They still need pods, but they won’t be fully reliant on it. I keep mine with a leopard wrasse (which eats pods)
