Will a new Wavebox like the Tunze one ever be made/revamped?

I've been seeing videos of the old Tunze Wavebox... It looks really cool, but it can be hard to find since they're so old.

Has there been any rumours of them making a new revamped model, or another company making one? I love that wave action.

Readily available and they did get updated pumps and controller a couple years ago.

My favorite tunze product. Just be aware that you need a stand and aquarium that can handle to dynamic motion. The movement is no joke

It's a Red Sea 250 - think that would be able to withstand the wave motion?

Also, forgot to ask, does the Wavebox mess up other power heads in the tank (I have two Red Sea gyre pumps)

I would be concerned about any unbraced or rimless glass tank. The stand would also worry me on those. It never affected any of my powerheads but the last time I personally had one in my tank was before gyre pumps were a thing

They get less noisy as they “brake in”

Give it a few weeks

I had one in a Red Sea tank for along time, I read math somewhere once where people thought it took a small percentage off of seam life on glass tanks like 2 years off of a 15-20 year lifespan.

If your buying a new tank it may void the warranty, some mfg's will not honor the warranty because of the additional stresses the waves put on the seams and stand.

Some overflows do not work as well either or will be noisy because of the inconsistent surface water level swaying back and forth.

The longer the tank the better and more natural the wave action will be as well since the water movement is dependent on the length of the tank.

I’ve always heard of them but know nothing about them.

How does a pump in a box work so well? What’s the logic behind this thing?

theres more to this thing then i realized!
Try this, take a brute storage tub and fill it half full of water. Slide it back and forth on the floor and you can simulate the same thing and feel how much pressure the water puts against the walls of the tub as it fights back against the movement. This is what the wave box does to the tank seams 24/7. It can add a lot of stress to the tank over time.

Displacement, The pump empties the box and forces the water out across the tank. Then stops and allows the water to come back and fill the box back up. You tune or time it's on/off cycle with the included controller to resonate to the length of the tank to make waves. They work very well and can splash water out the ends of the tank if they are turned up to high.

Basically it fills a reservoir with water then pushes that reservoir out. It's an incredibly effective system.

interesting haven’t heard anything about warranty voids because of the wave box

You can make a standing wave with most any power head that pulses as well MP40 and Jebeo work, the advantage of the box is the pulsing uses extremely low power.
