Why does one of my juvenile seahorses' have a gooey white thing hanging off

It's not super noticable right now but her belly looks kinda distended in that area? And there's a tiny white thing sticking out. Idk if you can see it in these pics

two reasons ive seen this happen is when water quality has deteriorated and while not bacterial is similar in appearance and also when seahorse in UNDER nourished and hasnt eaten or getting enough to eat becoming stressed.

The water parameters haven't changed and she eats like normal. Is it something that could get worse? How could I treat it, if so?

Often goes away after about a week after water change.
