Who Am I?
My name is @Eric Cohen, and I own and run Tankstop.com. You might recognize me as the livestock expert on the Animal Planet TV show “Tanked” for over 48 episodes! I appeared alongside Brett and Wayde, and later with Heather and Agnes, during fish walks and other segments. I also served as the show’s technical advisor, ensuring that all the information presented on TV was accurate.
Before my time on “Tanked,” I was one of the founders and owners of the largest wholesale marine livestock distributor in the industry, located right across from LAX Airport. I’m incredibly proud of the company I built with my brother and our childhood next-door neighbor. That company continues to lead the way in marine livestock distribution.
My Passion for the Hobby
I’ve been a hobbyist nearly my entire life. Growing up, I worked in my father’s fish stores and have always kept aquariums. My passion for these animals and the hobbyists who care for them has never diminished. At Tankstop.com, I personally pack every order, ensuring that no shortcuts are taken and that all animals are generously packed for the most comfortable journey to your front door.

I’ve been shipping orders for the past two years, Monday-Thursday, with new specials every Saturday morning for the following week. We typically use UPS or FedEx, but for larger live rock orders, I can arrange shipping via airlines if necessary.
Speaking of live rock, I’ve had a deep connection with it since the early 1990s, when my brother and I set up one of the first collection facilities in Fiji. I worked closely with local villagers to refine the rock, fish, and coral we collected and exported worldwide. The SPS acropora trade was just beginning when we arrived in Fiji, and I worked tirelessly to ensure that these delicate corals arrived in Los Angeles in good health. It’s one of my proudest accomplishments in the industry.
A Personal Note
In 2015, after 25 years working in the wholesale livestock trade, I sold my shares of the company to take a break and spend more time with my aging father, who recently passed away in January 2024. I also focused on my other company, Blue Life USA, specializing in aquarium filtration and medication. But my heart has always been with marine livestock, and that’s why I’ve returned to the industry with Tankstop.com.
