I was intrigued by the oldest clownfish thread and the search option didn't bring up any similar anemone threads, so....
Who has, or knows of, the oldest captive anemone?
How old is your oldest specimen?
Pics and a brief history would be great!
Mine is presently a 4-year-old Magnifica. (see pics in the Magnifica garden thread)

A LFS had a long tenticle for over 25 years (a disgruntled employee killed it :confounded-face: ) I have a brown BTA clone line that traces back to a wild one bought in 1998 but they split fairly often so none are "older" than a couple years.
That lta info makes me so sad

I have a 16 year old magnifica. It's a female as I have witnessed her releasing eggs at least a couple of times. She has split three times. First split one died. Second split both lived. Third split both lived. All three are in my tank at this time.

Love it! I am very impressed! My oldest is only 4 years old. I also had one split. Your reef is what I am trying to emulate as well. I currently have 8 mags in my reef. I have 2 more coming in this evening with fingers crossed they handle shipping well.

My “dragon soul” BTA purchased February 26, 2008. Split countless times.

For the record, this thing doesn’t have a fancy name. I got it at my LFS for cheap (can’t remember, but it was probably around $25). I just call it “dragon soul” because it kind of looks like these really expensive torches that everyone wants.

Looks like a Purple Passion anemone.

I knew and visited a tomato clownfish & anemone in Milwaukee about 12 years ago. They were both nearing 25 years. Rare but absolutely cool to see.

I just might have the oldest Haddoni Carpet Anemone in the trade. I bought it from a very popular clown fish breeder on the East Coast of the United States. She had owned it in her personal reef tank for 22 years when I purchased it from her. I have now kept her ( Haddi ) in my 14' reef tank for 18 years.
In captivity we know she is documented 40 years old in our possession. She thrives and is very happy with a mated pair of percula clowns, the female is giant, about 3 1/2" long. The tank she is in is a 36" pie shaped bow front, which is part of the 14' three tank display in the center of our living room.

I have rock anemones that are nine years old. They have had babies, but the original ones, I know who they are. They never move around. Interesting fact, the babies travel around a lot till they find their perfect spot.

I’ve had my magnifica for more than 5 years. Was originally in a 4X2’ 120g but is now in a 6X2’ 180g and soon moving to a 300g. Survived a 2 day summer power outage with minimal oxygenation. It was barely 7” across when I got it and is now a 2’ monster housing a small harem of 5 perculas. Also 2 anemone crabs and a small shoal of banggais that like to hang around.

@Paul B any nems lurking in that tank?
Yes of course but I have no idea how many years it has been in there. I didn't put it in my tank and I have no idea where it came from but the thing is huge and takes up much of the room in the back of the tank.

I am careful never to feed it or it will take over the tank and climb into bed with me as those things grow huge if you feed them. It split a number of times and if I could remove them to give them away, I would.

I am not a big fan of nems but thats just me.

You can see a little of it here,

I bought a Sebae anemone in 2002, next month will be 23 years. Somehow still have it. It initially hosted a breeding pair of gold striped maroons and currently hosts a breeding pair of occellaris clowns since 2006 (after I lost the maroons in a heater malfunction in 2005).

2003 with the maroon pair

2006 with the new occellaris pair:
