I bought the 2016 model and love it. It's my first controller and I really like being able to control so much stuff automatically.

Lets share tips and tricks... I can add you to view mine online if you'd like also.

I stand by my Apex 2016 100%. I love the piece of mind it gives me. It's reliable and the expandability of it is a huge feature for me.

I have found some Amazon water sensors that can be hooked to a breakout box to make a cheap and easy leak detection without having to pay for the ALD. I'm working on some optical sensors once they come in. I want to add more than what the FMM will allow.

Did you two set up virtual outlets for your alarms? If not, it is a great idea and helps reduce false alarms all the time.

I have a 2016 that I plan on setting up soon, so I'd love some insight on how to use it after I get basic stuff figured out! I also have the ato for it and want to set up some automation with my water change station.

Once you get it plugged up, you can add me under authorizations. I can set you up pretty quickly with virtual outlets and stuff.. One thing to note: Don't even waste your time calibrating the salinity probe for a couple weeks, as it won't hold calibration for a while anyway. Put it in the water and leave it for a couple weeks. You'll see it settle into one setting. When it does, it will hold calibration.

I set my tank up so that if it gets too hot, my lights turn red. If it gets too cold, they turn green. It's a good visual indicator in the event I don't get any other alerts.
