White mold/film on my rock

Anyone have any idea what this could be? It looks like it' only in the lit areas of the tank. Is it bad? How do I remove it?

Would love to see a sample of this under a microscope.

I grow something which I think is an algae. It has a golden branched rhizome that sends up vertical filaments. The cells of each filament are almost clear, giving it the look of a fuzzy white tuft.
